MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL BATTLE OF THE BOOKS CHAMPIONS ANNOUNCED

The middle/high school library’s Battle of the Books program concluded last week, and we are excited to announce the winners of the middle and high school divisions!
After weeks of reading, analyzing, and intense competition, the winning middle school team (bottom right) was Kennedy Abel, Arianna Bathke-Wampole, Stefanie Toporek, Jaci Olson, and Ella Opelt. The winning high school team (above) was Ashlyn Green and Kynton La Mont. While the teacher teams at both levels (shown below) were the ultimate winners, these top student teams will compete in the online statewide battle the final week of February. Through Battle of the Books, students experience the joy of immersing themselves in a variety of genres, from thrilling mysteries to inspiring historical fiction. This program fosters collaboration and teamwork, as students support each other in their journey through the books and develop a deeper connection with the material.
Students worked together in teams, answering questions and competing based on their knowledge of a diverse list of twenty books. Their dedication, passion, and commitment to reading truly shined throughout the competition. Battle of the Books is sponsored by WEMTA (Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association) and is run by school library media technology specialist Michele Green.
Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and determination, and a special shout-out to our winning teams! Keep reading, keep exploring, and keep growing – we can't wait to see you all compete again next year!
