The two new staff members at the Spencer library took a moment to introduce themselves to the community, in their own words.

Ashley Heiden “I grew up and still live in Stratford. I enjoy reading, binge watching my favorite shows and playing my flute. After I graduated from Stratford High School, I went to college at Carroll University in Waukesha where I received a bachelor’s degree in marketing. While in college, I worked in my campus library and loved it. I started my position as the Spencer branch coordinator on Sept. 16. Some of my responsibilities as the coordinator include checking in and out patrons’ books, shelving books, managing our collection so we get books that patrons would be interested in on our shelves, planning events for the library and working behind the scenes to keep the branch running smoothly.

“One of the new events we are hoping to start at the library is a family story time, but we welcome any and all ideas you want to give us. If you have any ideas for events you would like to see at the Spencer library, stop in and let us know. We would love to hear from you!”

Ann Browne “I grew up in Marshfield and have lived in Stratford for many years. I graduated from Marshfield High, I am married, and have one son and a daughter-in-law. I enjoy being outdoors at my cabin with family, fishing and reading.

“I started at the library at the same time as Ashley. We are learning our roles at the library together, although as the library assistant I do not have to do the reports Ashley has to do. I am enjoying my duties at the library. It has been nice getting to know the Spencer patrons; they are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. All the staff at the Marathon County libraries are very helpful to us, the new staff, and definitely the patrons.

“If you would like to learn more about us, there is currently a bulletin board up in the library with some of our favorite things, so feel free to stop in and take a look.”
