Sean Altman (l) and Jack Skuller will visit the Tack Center Oct. 4 to perform their show “Forever Simon & Garfunkel.” Both are talented vocalists and performers.

Singer-songwriter Paul Simon and singer Art Garfunkel together made up one of the best-selling music acts of the 1960s, with chart-topping songs that remain widely known and remade today, including “The Sound of Silence,” “Cecilia” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

Now, experienced performers Jack Skuller and Sean Altman will bring the tight-knit harmonies and charming guitar riffs of this popular duo to Spencer in their tribute act, “Forever Simon & Garfunkel.”

The act is coming to the LuCille Tack Center for the Arts on Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Daniel Worsham, executive director for the Tack Center, found out about this dynamic duo when one of his colleagues saw them perform at the Midwest Arts Conference in Indianapolis, a conference for people who run theaters.

“They are great performers, really charismatic and really expressive. It was really love at first sight,” said Worsham.

“They have a long history. Sean Altman has quite the track record with singing,” he added.

Altman was co-founder of the famed group “Rockapella,” which brought a capella music back into the mainstream and led the way for other popular non-accompanied vocal groups that would come after. He has performed on Saturday Night Live, for Jay Leno, and twice in the White House. He also wrote the theme song for the children’s TV game show, “Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?”

Skuller, about three decades Altman’s junior, achieved musical success early on, signing his first recording contract at the age of 14. He was a Disney recording artist and also received the illustrious Buddy Holly Prize for his exceptional talent.

The two met when performing together and decided to team up to keep great music alive.

“They blend very well together and have great camaraderie. They keep the show interesting,” said Worsham.

Skuller and Altman also perform a show featuring Everly Brothers music. If the Simon & Garfunkel act is received well, there is the potential for them to come back to do the Everly Brothers show. Tickets can be purchased online at lucilletackcenter. com or by calling 715-659 4499.
