Loyal girls place second at Auburndale Invite
Local track teams came out in full force on April 29 to compete at the Auburndale Invitational. For some, it was their first meet of the season — others have already participated in a few — but for all it was a learning experience as the athletes begin to figure out their places on the track.
The Loyal girls were one of the most successful teams at the invite, taking home a second place finish from among 10 teams. In addition to the individual placings, the girls had two teams place at the invite. The Greyhounds ran both a 4X200m relay team
(1:58.76) and a 4X100m relay team (53:82), finishing in second place for both.

For the boys, the Greyhounds also had two relay teams compete and place at Auburndale. The 4X100m relay team (50.15) took fourth place and the 4X400m relay team (4:16.8) finished 6th.

The Spencer track team also competed at the invite. For the girls team, two relays competed and placed. The 4X200m relay team (2:06.76) took third while the 4X400m relay team (5:12.8) placed fourth.

The Greenwood track team also competed at the April 29 invite, with Lauren Ingold setting a school record in the shot put, and Nathan Revier setting a school record in the triple jump.

The girls had only one relay team compete. The 4X100m relay team took fifth place with a time of 1:03.64.

The Granton girls track team was the final area team to compete at Auburndale. The team’s 4X800m relay group took fifth place at the invite, running a 12:29.75.

The Loyal girls earned 115 points to take second place at the invite, finishing behind Colby (143). Other teams placing at the invite were Auburndale (106), Neillsville (62), Stratford, (54), Spencer, which scored 44 points for sixth, Assumption (40), Columbus (32), Granton, which scored 32 points for ninth, and Greenwood, which placed 10th with seven points.
For the boys teams, Greenwood took 10th with 22 points. They placed behind Assumption (25), Spencer, which took eighth with 33 points, Owen-Withee (38), Columbus (41), Loyal, which finished fifth with 41 points, Stratford (98), Auburndale (103), Colby (117), and Neillsville (130).
