‘StongBodies’ classes offered at various Clark County locations
StrongBodies is alive and well in Clark County. StrongBodies is an evidencebased strength-training program developed by researchers at Tufts University. The program is a 12-week class that meets twice a week for about 60 minutes and goes through a routine of 10 exercises using dumbbells and ankle weights.
StrongBodies was originally developed for middle-aged and older adults but has since been proven to be beneficial for all individuals. This program has shown to reduce risk for chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, and increases strength, muscle mass, and bone density.
StrongBodies classes will be starting in Neillsville the week of Jan. 6 and two different sessions will be offered on: -- Mondays and Thursdays at 8 a.m. in the Clark County Courthouse Auditorium -- Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:40 p.m. in the Clark County Courthouse Auditorium -- Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. at the Granton Community Center Classes will also be offered in Loyal beginning in February.
The cost is $20 for each 12-week class with scholarships available. Pre-registration is required prior to the start of the program.
