Camp Victory of Willard is proud to announce the appointment of Matthew Doerr as its new executive director.

“Doerr, a distinguished veteran of the United States Army, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to supporting veterans and first responders, and their families,” Mary Randall, Camp Victory Board of Directors chairperson, wrote in a Sept. 12 press release.

Doerr’s military career, which spanned from April 2004 to July 2020, included multiple deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He also spent three years in Germany and two in South Korea. His service earned him numerous accolades, including the Bronze Star andArmy Commendation Medal for Valor, recognizing his bravery and leadership in challenging circumstances.

As the new executive director, Doerr is eager to advance Camp Victory’s mission and build upon its legacy of service. His dedication to the organization’s goals reflects his understanding of the needs and challenges faced by veterans and first responders.

of our own,” said Doerr. “There is a different bond between us than a lot of others — it’s a brotherhood and sisterhood.”

Doerr brings some unique experiences to this new position. After he got out of the military, he started a private equity company, which gave him experience in finance and effective marketing. He also has volunteered at the camp since June.

“We are thrilled to welcome Matthew Doerr to Camp Victory Inc.,” said Randall. “His exemplary military background and unwavering commitment to our mission make him an invaluable addition to our team. We look forward to his leadership and the positive impact he will bring to our community.”

Camp Victory is dedicated to providing support and resources to veterans, first responders and their families, and under Doerr’s leadership, the organization aims to enhance its outreach and effectiveness.

Doerr succeeds Jeffrey LeCount, who took on the executive director role in 2022.

“Even though the camp has chosen to move on without me, I truly hope they succeed in the mission of helping veterans, first responders and their families. I hope many who have struggles find their peace through the camp,” LeCount wrote in a statement.
