Police Vehicle Purchase & Funding for the Same The Medford Police Department requested price quotes on a 2021 Ford Utility Police Interceptor from the dealers that are listed below. The proposed patrol vehicle is replacing our current Squad #65, a 2017 Ford Police Interceptor, which will replace Squad #67, a 2015 Ford Police Interceptor. The current patrol vehicle would be traded in at the time of the purchase.

Lawn Care Services Contract The Friends of the Downtown have decided to discontinue the hanging baskets and will be exploring alternative ideas for downtown decorating.

Due to the change in the downtown decorating and difficulties hiring summer help staff, Black River Industries was contacted and expressed interest in providing lawn care services in lieu of the City hiring summer help in the Public Works department.

Black River Industries submitted a contract to provide a lawn crew to perform 10-15 hours of trimming around trees and buildings per week at a cost of $24.00 per hour. The City would still continue to have someone hired to mow the lawns.

2022-2029 Capital Projects Schedule Clem Johnson moved, Dave Roiger seconded a motion to approve the following 20222029 Street Capital Projects schedule: Year - Projects 2022 - Reconstruct South Seventh from Ogden to Broadway. Resurface Madison Street from Wheelock Street to Brucker Street.

2023 - Reconstruct Perkins Street from South Fourth to Perkins Street Bridge. Resurface Wisconsin Street from Spruce Street to South Park Street. Drill Water Main under River at the intersection of Perkins Street and South Wisconsin Avenue.

2024 - Resurface Ninth Street from Broadway Avenue south 700 feet. Reconstruct South Second Street from Conrad Drive north 700 feet (fully urbanized). Participate with State in Repaving STH 13 and STH 64. Replace water on South Whelen Avenue.

2025 - Reconstruct North Second Street from Broadway Avenue to Pine Street (1,520 feet). Resurface Ninth Street from Well #12 Driveway to Eastview Drive.

2026 - Reconstruct North Seventh from Allman Street to Taylor Street. Resurface Billings Avenue. Replace water main from Billings Avenue to 1055 West Broadway Avenue.

2027 - Reconstruct South Fourth Street from Perkins Street to Clark Street (1,000 feet). Resurface North Main.

2028 - Reconstruct Clark Street from South Seventh to South Fourth Street. Resurface Eastview Drive.

2029 - Reconstruct North Third from Broadway Avenue to Taylor Street. Reconstruct College Street from Bruce Street to Donald Street (fully urbanized). Resurface South Whelen Avenue.

2021 Street Striping Bid Award Bids were solicited for 2021 street striping. The following bids were received: Fahrner Asphalt - $29,500.00 Jensen Chip & Seal Coating - $6,950.00 Lakes Asphalt Maintenance $7,986.00 Seal it & Striping LLC $6,920.25 Upon request from Committee of the Whole, Joe Harris was to contact Seal it & Striping LLC for references. Mark Leichtman, owner of Seal it & Striping LLC, indicated he did not have time and would like to rescind his bid during a telephone conversation. Based upon the conversation a letter was sent to formally confirm rescinding the bid, a response was not received in the required time frame, therefore the bid has officially been rescinded.

2021 Pool Operations

Michael Bub moved, Dave Roiger seconded a motion to open the pool to the public at a starting capacity of 200 people; the same hours as previous years, to allow for both participating and non-participating townships, and the locker rooms to remain closed. Coordinator’s Report - Joe Harris The Coordinator’s report was as follows: (1) An update on the Public Works projects was given. (2) An update on the Electric Utility projects was given. (3) An update on the Wastewater Utility projects was given. (4) An update on the Crosswalk Project was given. (5) Karie Thums has completed her oneyear probationary period with the Medford Police Department. Beginning April 13, 2021, Ms. Thums’ wage will increase from $28.48 per hour to $29.98 per hour. (6) George & Mable Brehm Property, in 2005 the City’s Community Development Authority Board purchased the George & Mable Brehm property located at W6096 County Road O. The purchase was subject to a non-assignable life lease for the Brehm’s. Both Mr. & Mrs. Brehm have passed away. The City Attorney is currently working on the legal transfer of the land. Once the transfer has been recorded, a Community Development Authority Board meeting will be held to discuss the future of the property.
