Scott J. Kelly, 68, White Bear Lake, Minn., and Duane J. Taylor, 51, Medford, were involved in an accident on March 6 at 12:10 p.m. at the intersection of Gibson Drive and CTH A in the town of Little Black. According to the accident report, the Taylor vehicle was westbound on CTH A proceeding through the intersection with Gibson Drive. The Kelly vehicle was southbound on Gibson Drive and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with CTH A. The Kelly vehicle proceeded to turn west onto CTH A and struck a trailer being towed by the Taylor vehicle. The Kelly vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front, right front corner, right side front, left front corner and left side front. The Taylor vehicle sustained disabling damage to the right side rear. Failure to yield the right-of-way by Kelly was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. He was issued a citation for failure to yield at an uncontrolled intersection.
Kathy A. Brecht, 51, Medford, was involved in an accident on March 5 at 5:49 p.m. in a parking lot at 575 Whelen Ave. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Brecht vehicle was backing up and struck a semi trailer that was attached to the building, causing minor damage to the vehicle’s rear. There was no damage to the trailer.
Luke N. Peterson, 27, Medford, was involved in a hitand- run accident on February 21 at midnight on CTH E in the town of Hammel. According to the deputy’s report, he arrived in the area at approximately 12:10 a.m. but did not locate a vehicle in the ditch. The report stated the deputy, after some searching, located a place where a northbound vehicle appeared to have recently entered the ditch across the road from N3647 CTH E. The report stated the tracks left by the vehicle indicated that the vehicle had travelled east into a field adjacent to CTH E and then south toward Center Avenue. The report stated the deputy returned to his vehicle and patrolled Center Avenue eastbound to determine if the vehicle had left the field. The accident report listed failure to control and failure to keep in designated lane by Peterson were factors in the accident. The accident report stated Peterson was issued a citation for failure to keep vehicle under control.
