Trials slated

The following entered pleas of not guilty: Makayla E. Hester, 19, Medford, disorderly conduct; Paul R. Cwikla a.k.a. Paul Robert Cwikla Jr., 53, Owen, knowingly violating a domestic abuse order injunction; Glenn W. Watkins, 19, Prentice, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of THC; Stacy L. Noak, 36, Wausau, operating while revoked and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Deferred prosecutions

Karyn L. Eckert, 38, Medford, pled no contest to disorderly conduct-domestic abuse and entered into a deferred prosecution agreement for a period of one year. Upon successful completion of the agreement, the court will dismiss the case.

Brady J. Hupf, 17, Medford, pled no contest to failure to stop at a stop sign and entered into a deferred prosecution agreement for a period of six months. Upon successful completion of the first offenders program, the court will dismiss the case.

Amberlee S. Petrie, 26, Rib Lake, pled no contest to disorderly conduct (domestic abuse-infliction of physical pain or injury) and entered into a deferred prosecution agreement for a period of one year. As terms of the agreement, Petrie must not commit any criminal offenses during the period of the agreement; notify the Taylor County district attorney and clerk of court offices of any address change within 10 days; and continue to participate in the home visiting program through Indian Community Action Agency and provide proof of participation to the district attorney’s office. Upon successful completion of the agreement, the state will move to dismiss the case.

Daniele M. Schimmels, 34, Stetsonville, pled no contest to disorderly conduct and entered into a deferred prosecution agreement for a period of one year. As terms of the agreement, Schimmels must not commit any criminal offenses during the period of the agreement; notify the Taylor County district attorney and clerk of court offices of any address change within 10 days; and comply with all of the terms of bond, which continues to remain in effect during the period of the agreement. Upon successful completion of the agreement, the state will dismiss the case.

Forfeitures

Stuart T. Berry, 36, Capitan, Minn., pled no contest to failure to keep records as required, failure to keep accurate records or otherwise provide incorrect information and forfeited $544.50.

Berry also pled no contest to interfering with hunting/ fishing/trapping and forfeited $343.50.

Sontos N. Cardenas Pineda, 42, Dorchester, pled no contest to operating a motor vehicle without insurance and forfeited $200.50.

Elizabeth A. Emmons, 54, Holcombe, pled no contest to an amended charge of disorderly conduct and forfeited $330.50. The original charge had been violating a harassment restraining order injunction.

Tomi K. Erlandson, 26, Ellsworth, pled no contest to an amended charge of disorderly conduct and forfeited $330.50. The original charge had been battery.

Raquel M. Penney, 41, Dorchester, pled no contest to an amended charge of making an unsafe turn at an intersection and forfeited $175.30. The original charge had been failure to stop at a stop sign.

Probation ordered

Nicholas J. Judnic, 28, Ogema, pled no contest to theft of movable property less than or equal to $2,500 (as a party to a crime). Sentence was withheld and Judnic was placed on probation for one year on the condition he serve 20 days in jail; pay a fine of $453, restitution in an amount to be determined within 30 days and supervision fee as ordered by the Department of Corrections; submit to a DNA sample; have no contact with the victim nor enter the business’s premise; write a letter of apology, pre-approved by probation, to the victim within 30 days of sentencing; undergo counseling as deemed appropriate by probation; and undergo an alcohol and drug assessment and comply with any treatment recommendations. Judnic also pled no contest to a count of burglary of building or dwelling (as a party to a crime) and entered into a deferred prosecution agreement for a period of one year. As terms of the agreement, he must not commit any criminal offenses during the period
