Report of Dorchester Park Regular & Annual Meeting of Jan. 25

The regular meeting of the Dorchester Park Corp. Board met at 6:30 p.m. at the old village hall with nine members present on January 22. Board president Ron Robida presided. Robida reported the dam has been maintained and a record of maintenance has been established. He also noted the improvements on the gazebo haven’t been completed. Plans are also in progress to place the veterans décor on the island in a better place to accommodate mowing.

Future projects could be to build a better parking area and improve the walking path. A lengthly discussion was held about the park board having to receive an okay from the village board on all changes done in the park. A suggestion was made to have a person be a liaison that would attend both meetings so each board would know what is happening. No action was taken.

The meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m. The next regular meeting is to be held on 6:30 p.m., March 31, at the old village hall. The annual meeting followed the regular meeting.

Forward Bank has been very generous to Dorchester Park. Over the last two years the Park has received over $4,000 from this generous business. Interest individuals can help provide a consistent donation stream for the park by opening a CMMA account and specify Dorchester Park as the preferred charity. At the end of the year Forward Bank will make a donation on your behalf. No money will be taken from your account.
