It is time for Christmas movies! I know I am in the cliché grouping when it comes to Hallmark Christmas movies and the like, but I can’t help it. I am a hopeless romantic at heart and even though they can be the most corny movies around, there is comfort seeing that the magic of this time of the year is working - in Hallmark. Who else can I have in my little circle of cozying up with hot cocoa, a big comfortable blanket and couch with a beautiful fire in the hearth, while watching cheesy romantic Christmas movies? I will have some yummy treats for you when you join me.

Now, not all movies I watch around this time of year are the cheesy Hallmark movies. I have a list of must watch, and the list is the following: How the Grinch Stole Christmas! all versions (the original 1966 cartoon, Jim Carrey rendition, and the newer - not so much like the original - cartoon), Trapped in Paradise, Miracle of 34th Street, The Santa Clauses 1, 2, & 3, It’s a Wonderful Life, Home Alone 1 & 2, Elf, Just Friends, Genie, White Christmas, the 1964 Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, the 1970 Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, Mixed Nuts, Jack Frost, A Boy Named Christmas, Klaus, Arthur Christmas, the 1968 The Little Drummer Boy, the 1969 Frosty the Snowman, Scrooged, Spirited (up with my favorites), National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Love Actually, The Holiday, Love Hard, and The Polar Express.

The list is mighty long and is not in any particular order of favoritism and I’m probably missing a few good ones. You might have seen a “classic” movie missing like A Christmas Story but to be completely honest, that movie never sat right with me. There are iconic parts of the movie and I can think of them all right now; the tongue stuck to the pole, Ralphie completely bundled up, the Chinese restaurant scene with the singing and duck coming out. Ok, maybe listing these iconic scenes is making me realize that I might not mind the movie so much. When it’s on this year maybe I will just clue into those scenes and be “too distracted” to see the rest.

Do you have any holiday/Christmas movies that you absolutely dislike, or even better love? Why don’t you share them with me, send them in and I will do what I can to watch your recommendation. Any holiday favorites in English or in another language; I might need subtitles but if you love it and it’s filled with good comforting feelings then count me in.

I hope you find some time to enjoy your holiday/Christmas movies that you hold dear and are a part of your holidays.
