Stumbling upon my own solace

onder Currently my world has been full of studying. Studying what seems like everything from the metaphysical and philosophy to learning español to technical jargon, such as the back end of web development, cybersecurity (which is just an umbrella term for sub-categories of many caveats themselves), programming, network architecture, system engineering and security infrastructure. The list continues but you can kind of get the picture of what my mind is full of. Not only is it full of that but then there are the happenings of daily life and my random thoughts that turn into adventures, if I am in the mood to follow my own thought process.

For example: I wonder if our minds are like vacuums in a way. They ingest all this information continuously, in which you hope to retain some of the said information. But what happens when your mind fills up? It’s not like it’s a bucket where you can dump some of it out. You just keep learning. So what happens to the information that was there in the past? Did you just lose it? But where? Into the great abyss of your own mind.

My rant is more than a little over. Let’s continue on this journey together. It’s fun no?

Now, if we went with that concept, our minds are this infinite place. What if we put in a structure such as a library? A library where the rows go on for miles and miles of all the information you have absorbed throughout your lifetime. Or an alternate view is seeing servers beyond servers all blinking happily to a tune of their own. How wonderful it would be that we could go back and retrieve a book or directory (one of your own design) and pull out the information to make corrections or adjustments to what you have already learned. Or maybe you can learn from the that book to change your outcome of your future because of your past. Changing the code at the root file and hoping but yet knowing that you will find other bugs to adjust and fix along the way. Everything is interconnected through networks of your own mind.

Taking a step back and just looking at the library mindset, I sometimes see that when I am meditating. It’s like I step into a room that seems small at first and the more I look around the more rows and columns of books that never seem to end surround me. There is a decent size clearing that has a conglomerate of comfy couches and chairs and blankets just waiting to be snuggled and cuddled in. Crystals are adorned on top of beautifully gleaning pillars of transcendent light. It’s dark yet lit with a soft clear light from the pillars and that doesn’t hurt your eyes and when you look up you see the infinite stars looking back at you. A feeling of peace and safety in the vast space that never ends. Do you have a place like that? Maybe in your mind’s eye. Someplace that is yours and the feeling of extreme comfort exudes from within you. If not, try looking for it in your mind when it seems full. Look for the place where all your knowledge goes and just maybe you will find your own little get-away amongst the chaos of your own mind or even your every day.

“The dimension that counts for the creative person is the space he creates within himself. This inner space is closer to the infinite than the other, and it is the privilege of the balanced mind... and the search for an equilibrium is essential - to be as aware of inner space as he is of outer space.” - Mark Tobey
