Clothing Drive for Korea A collection sponsored by the American Legion is asking for clothing and shoes to be donated to those in need in Korea.

Abbotsford may get new processing plant The city council approved the sale of a 220 by 300 foot parcel just west of the railroad on Linden St. for the purposes of building a meat processing plant. Construction of the new plant was scheduled to be completed by August 1.

Abby adult band leader chosen John Buatti, who works as an English instructor at Abbotsford High School, was chosen as the chairman of Abbotsford’s adult band.

Five area students to attend co-op Youth Congress Clark Electric Cooperative sponsored five students to attend an event held at UW-River Falls that will teach them about cooperatives and government. Lynette Will and Ed Beyerl of Colby were selected as part of the group.

Abby council OK’s $900,000 in building permits Plans for a new McDonald’s-Amoco combined location was approved by Abbotsford city council, as well as requested expansions for Abbyland Processing.

Colby may do more utility work this year The city of Colby looks at doing more sewer and water work on Second and Third Streets. The additions to the project were estimated at $100,000.

St. Peter youth take part in servant event in Virginia Nine members of Dorchester’s St. Peter’s youth group helped with the building of house additions and the repair of roofs during a mission trip to Virginia.
