Geraldine Anderson chosen D.A.R. representative At a faculty meeting Monday, Geraldine Anderson was named D.A.R. representative from a list of three girls chosen by the members of the senior class.

Since 1935, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has sponsored the selection of an outstanding senior girl from high schools throughout the country.

Until 1946 the state winner was chosen by lot, and together with winners from the other states actually went on a pilgrimage to Washington, D.C. In lieu of the trip to Washington, the state winner is now given a $100 United States Savings Bond, series E. Between 300 and 400 names are submitted by the various high schools of Wisconsin. The state winner is chosen on the basis of answers each local winner submits to ten questions each girl must answer in the form of a brief questionnaire. Using this same merit system, additional prizes of $25 and $15 in cash are awarded to second and third place winners.

Geraldine is the daughter of Kenneth Anderson, Abbotsford. Geraldine has a high scholastic record, as well as being active in many extra curricular activities. She was recently named one of the honor students of her class and is also the class president. This year, she is also serving as editor-in-chief of the Abhiscan, the school annual.

OraLee Erikson was chosen as the alternate for the event.
