Well, that’s zinc for ya

SAMANTHA Y OCIUS CREATIVE M EDIA I seem to be finding myself a little under the weather at the moment. It is what it is; however, I feel as if my colleagues are questioning my mad methods of why I am still at the office. I have been called an Ewok, due to the color of the sweatshirt I wore to the office today and the fact that it is up with my over-the-ear headphones on my head. They aren’t playing much of anything, I wear them for more of a concentration aspect. From time to time I will listen to a podcast or some music that will just randomly play, the source is nowhere to be found, which makes life all the more interesting. Back to my main train of thought.
Ifindthatwhensomething needs to get done and you don’t want to impose your job duties onto another, the only way is to show up yourself and do the work. If only, technology had advanced further and I had a better connection to work remotely. Nonetheless, I am here, keeping my distance, using Lysol, drinking lots and lots of tea, and keeping mostly to myself. Occasionally, I have to walk around the office to deliver papers and such to other co-workers (whilst wearing a mask to not spread anything), and even though walking feels in itself a chore, I know that it is good for me. Zinc and vitamin C are my new best friends and they seem to be helping. I could be way worse.
Now, that I have given you a glimpse into my day today, we will expand to other discussions. Who wants to learn about zinc?
I, for one, know that zinc is very beneficial to immune strength and health. That alone would make me a ticket holder to this wonderful element and essential nutrient that we all need. Did you know that zinc is not something that is produced naturally in our system and without it humans would have many issues? Well, this is why I am here to show you the many awesomesauce aspects of zinc.
Doing such research, my findings show that zinc is actually the second-most abundant trace element in our bodies and has a presence in every cell in your body. It also plays a key role in our digestive system and the reason being is that the enzymes floating around in there can’t work properly without zinc. It needs zinc for enzymes to become active, helping your metabolism, nerve function and cell growth.
Do you like your smell and taste? I know I do and when it was gone (don’t worry I am not talking about now) I missed it greatly. Waking up to coffee that I couldn’t smell or taste was so sad. My love of coffee runs too deep to not try and ingest it, even if I couldn’t taste or smell it. Food didn’t seem to be anything I desired. It was blah, uneventful, boring and just plain. When my lovely family nurse practitioner introduced me to zinc and why it was so important for me to take while recovering, I immediately had to find out more about it. Increasing my immune function was my number one priority and the zinc had my number! Not only did it help with immune function but with inflammation too. There was and is still so much to learn about this amazing element.
Now, that I gave you a little insight into why zinc is the bomb-digity, I don’t want you to go gobbling up all the zinc you can find because too much of a good thing could do some harm. I recommend you adding zinc into your daily supplements; however, I would suggest going and doing your own research to find out what your dosage should be. Talk to a trusted practitioner and find out what’s best for you and your personal body. Keep true folks!
