Game in new gym Monday The first basketball game to be played in the new gym is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 1. The Ramblers will meet Newman High, of Wausau. This will give people a chance to see the new building as well as two games. The preliminary game, with the B teams starts at 7 p.m. and the main game is at 8:15 p.m.

The cheerleaders have received their new uniforms, of orange with white trim. The pep band has been getting in extra practice to add to the spirit of the evening.

New instrument purchased by parents of musicians A new Conn B-flat sousaphone was purchased by the Parents of School Musicians and was seen by the group who attended the meeting, held Tuesday evening at the band room in the high school.

The group is sponsoring a food sale to be held Saturday afternoon, Dec. 6. The committee in charge includes Mrs. Henry Weideman, Mrs. G. G. Shields, and Mrs. Leland Smiley.

A card party for after the holidays was also planned. The committee on arrangements will be Mrs. Ludwig Reichersamer, Mrs. Lily Wilson and Mrs. Gay Anderson.

Principal Juneau announced that the band would play a 15-minute concert at the dedication of the new gymnasium, on Dec. 13, and the choir will sing two numbers.

Bar near Abby has bomb scare Clark County authorities were called to an establishment for a bomb scare which occurred at the Look Out Bar, about three miles west of Abbotsford at 9:45 p.m. Friday.

According to the sheriff’s department, a male voice called saying... “there is a bomb at Nobby’s Bar, call the police, hurry, hurry...”.

Officers and members of the Abbotsford Fire Department responded, cleared all occupants from the building, searched the premises although no bomb could be found.

On Nov. 11, an attempt had been made to burn the building. Norbert Degenhardt, owner, detected an odor of gas and found some baler twine saturated in gasoline. He also observed a car leaving the grounds.

Colby FFA repairing broken toys The Colby High School Future Farmers of America chapter is repairing broken toys for distribution to families in the area at Christmas time. The chapter is looking for donations of repairable toys.

Collection boxes have been placed at grocery and hardware stores in Colby, Dorchester and Unity. Anyone with toys to donate is asked to place them in any of the stores, or leave them with members of the chapter.

After repairing, the toys will be gift wrapped by girls in the Colby chapter and they will be distributed shortly before Christmas by the Colby Lions Club.
