Ban on pigs lifted in state In an effort to protect the swine industry of Wisconin from the spread of vesicular exanthema, the State Department of Agriculture, on Aug. 7, issued an order prohibiting the assembling of pigs within the state for any purpose other than immediate slaughter.

Since there have been no outbreaks of the disease in Wisconsin and because the order prohibiting the importation of pigs into Wisconsin is still in force, it is felt that the order of Aug. 7 can be modified to allow the normal movement of pigs within the state.
