Schultz stops Greenwood as Abbotsford wins
The Abbotsford AAA team traveled to Greenwood Sunday afternoon for a Cloverbelt League game and slugged its way to a 7 to 1 victory.
Roy Schultz started on the mound for Abbotsford, while tagged for eight hits, was tough in the pinches. The only run Greenwood got off him came in the sixth on Ammentorp’s home run.
Abbotsford took a 2 to 0 lead in the first inning, but didn’t wrap up the verdict until the eighth when it scored five times. Wally Hribar was the losing pitcher. Highlights of the game were three double plays.
Second baseman Erickson was in on two of them for Abbotsford, making one unassisted and teaming with Jim Herrmann for another. Bartz and Elmer worked a twin killing for the losers.
