Birthdays, holidays and more Birthdays, holidays and more

I am back and better than ever. I took a break from writing columns so Neal and Nathaniel could get worked into their positions. It was a nice break but I definitely did miss writing these though.

To start off, it was my birthday weekend! I turned 23, it’s usually on the weekend of Memorial day which is nice, and there is plenty of stuff to do. You can go to lake, it is usually heating up by end of May. You can go fishing, it is just a perfect time to have a birthday. I didn’t do much for my birthday but I’ve never been able to get into hunting, so I got a bow for bow hunting and got that operational.

I’ve only celebrated Memorial Dayatmygrandma’s.ThisyearI went to a ceremony to take some pictures. All I can say is wow. It changed my whole perspective of Memorial Day. It felt good, for once I honored the soldiers that fought and died for our country.

As I arrived at the ceremony I walked up to cemetery and took a picture of three veterans holding their weapons. As I always do I like to be off to the right or left, or dead square in the middle. When you’re trying to take good pictures you never want to be scared to move around. It’s always a good idea to take a picture, move and then take another picture to compare the angles.

I took a picture of Reverend Andersen, looked at my photo and realized I was off center of him. So I took a step to the front right trying to get a more centered picture. I took the picture, perfect. I kept taking pictures. The only time I didn’t take pictures was during the National Anthem. I’ve only seen pictures of soldiers saluting, and the veterans saluting at the ceremony would have made a great picture. But I didn’t know if it was appropriate. The weekend overall was amazing. Warm weather, got my one chicken a new home and got cake and ice cream. My brother asked the neighbors if they would like the chicken and they said yes. I am so thankful because she was so alone and I did not want to get more chickens. I have always had bad luck with animals and I think it is a sign just to have dogs.

I am done with school for the summertime, I just have some clubs to finish.

Having a break was great, but it’s always good to be back!
