ABBOTSFORD T RIBUNE PUBLISHED IN ABBOTSFORD THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 1952 Two baseball teams may be added to Cloverbelt The preparation of a schedule for the Cloverbelt baseball league was put off until league official receive replies to invitations extended to Thorp and Owen to join the circuit. Should the two towns accept the invitations, the league would operate as a ten team circuit rather than the current eight team setup.
During the business meeting, held at Chili last week Wednesday, it was decided to abide by the rules followed during the 1951 season. At the same time it was agreed that regardless of how many clubs compete in the league the season would open on May 11. The teams alreay assured of a berth in the league are Marshfi eld, Greenwood, Loyal, Neillsville, Medford, Stratford, Chili and Abbotsford. Representing Abbotsford at the meeting were Elmer Schraufnagel an Edwin Fults.
Red Cross call The annual Red Cross roll call is now in progress in Abbotsford with a quota of $250 to attain. Mrs. R. H. Treat, roll call chairman, is being assisted by Mmes. Leo Bumann, Walter Danielson, Raymond Kadonsky, Carl Scheuerman, Alfred Scheel and Howard Speck.
The Red Cross needs your membership to give it funds for the continually widening services.

Conditions were poor with a strong wind and freezing cold causing slow times in the running events. Shot put-first, Glen Geoltz 44’ 7 1/4”; second, Tony DelFatti and third Andy Finillo.
High Jump-first, Kurt Bublitz 6’0”; second, Rod Karaba and third was Leon Orzanski. Pole vaultfi rst, Dave Baumgartner, 11’6”; second, Phil Larson and third, Floyd Olson. 60-Yard. High Hurdles -first, Kurt Bublitz 8.75 seconds, second, Dan Singstock and third was Mike Kaiser. 60-Yard. Dash- first, Kurt Mertens seven seconds; second, Bob Koontz; and third Jim Peterson.
Mile-first, Brian Eggebrecht 4:53.8; second, R. Steiner and third was Gary Johnson.
880 relay-first, Colby 1:55.7. 440-first, John Conzemius 1:05.3; second, Rex Mingel and third was Steve Yaron.
60 Yd. Low H.-first, Dan Singstock 7.5 seconds; second, Bob Koontz and tying for third was Terry Laube and Kurt Bublitz.
