November 12, 2014 – The Loyal Drama Club was to present the one act play, “I’m a Teenager, Get Me Out of This Family,” on Nov. 15 in the Loyal High School gym. The performance by the club was performed in both district and sectional competition this year.

– The Spencer-Columbus football team ended their playoff run with a 20-14 overtime loss against Little Chute on Nov. 8 in a WIAA Division 4 Level 3 playoff game. The playoff run marks the furthest the combined team had ever advanced in the playoffs.

November 17, 1999 – U.S. Senator Russ Feingold was to hold a Clark County Listening Session on Nov. 22 at the Abbotsford High School cafeteria at 10:15 a.m. The session was to be his 500th he had held with local communities in Wisconsin since 1993.

– The Greenwood-Willard Jaycees Club donated 124 non-perishable food items to the Greenwood Food Pantry that were collected by the organization at the Greenwood Elementary Halloween party on Oct. 31.

– Rachel Weyer and Amanda Bogdonovich of Loyal had performed as part of the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association eighth annual “Singing in Wisconsin” festival held on Nov. 13 at Chippewa Falls McDonell High School. More than 1,300 students in grades 5-12 from more than 100 schools participated in the event. The students selected to participate were all shown to “demonstrate Wisconsin’s highest musical standards.”

– Doug Krultz of Greenwood was among 28 finalists in the Wisconsin Holstein Association title of Younger Member Recognition. The winner of the contest was to be announced at the Wisconsin Holstein Junior Convention to be held in Oconomowoc on Jan. 9.

November 14, 1979 – The Loyal volleyball team was to compete at the WIAA State Volleyball Tournament on Nov. 17 at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus.

– The Loyal City Council voted to run a year trial on clearing city sidewalks along Main Street this winter. In this way, the sidewalks would be cleared at the same time that city crews start plowing after a winter storm.

– A Thanksgiving Community Service was to be held on Nov. 21 at the Greenwood gymnasium. The service was being made through a cooperative effort by the clergymen from Grace United Methodist Church, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Zion United Church of Christ, Immanuel United Church of Christ, Trinity Lutheran Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Greenwood. The event was to include a program of hymns, readings from the first Thanksgiving, George Washington’s Thanksgiving proclamation and an anthem sung by a community chorus.

– The area experienced its first snowfall last week with a storm that caused a few inches of snow to cover the ground.

November 12, 1964 – John Wuethrich, chairman of the Clark County Unit of the American Cancer Society, had announced a $5,495 goal for the 1965 Clark County Crusade to fight cancer and research causes and potential cures for cancer.

– The Greenwood National Honor Society was to sponsor an “All School Carnival” on Nov. 13 at the school gymnasium.

– A gallon of ice cream was 99 cents.
