Children and families are in for an incredible adventure at VBS 2024, as many local churches in Cornell, join together in this ministry. The theme is Scuba ~ Diving Into Friendship with God.

The transformed Cornell Elementary School gymnasium is home to the action Monday, June 17, open to anyone, right up until the ending session Friday, June 21.

“The set is being designed by a talented team, the sound and audio are brilliant, and most importantly, the love of God will flow in and out of the building through volunteers, all week,” said coordinator Jenny Blaisdell.

A free breakfast for children starts off the day at 8:30 a.m., followed by the sessions from 9 a.m. to noon, then a lunch is served to children until 12:30 p.m. (children must be supervised during the meals.)

Participants will get their free SCUBA t-shirts, play water games on the playground, make meaningful arts and crafts, learn the verse of the day, get a chance to be featured in the spotlight video, enjoy a healthy snack, hear an interactive Bible story, dance, sing and make friends.

“Friendship with God, also means finding ways to love His children,” said Blaisdell.

Donations will be collected for the local food pantry, service men and women overseas, and one global mission at VBS. This year, they are raising funds for clean water in Honduras.

“Children are encouraged to bring neighbors, friends, cousins and anyone they want to share this special week with,” said Blaisdell. “Attendees will have a chance to win fabulous prizes on Friday, right before the grand finale picnic.”
