On September 8, at 7:17 a.m., a vehicle driven by Mathew Sperl, 46 struck a deer on CTH C in the town of Goodrich.

One Vehicle Crashes

On September 2, at 4:05 p.m., a vehicle driven by Lucinda Kott, 55 of Thorp was traveling northbound on Spur Five Rd. Kott failed to negotiate the curve and entered the ditch. Kott’s vehicle struck a field access driveway and then struck multiple trees coming to a rest facing east in the trees. Kott’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Kott did suffer suspected serious injuries as a result of the accident and was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital.

On September 9, at 3:00 a.m., a vehicle driven by Rebecca Ramos, 22 of Owen was traveling southbound on Larson Dr. Ramos applied the brakes and lost control of her vehicle, sliding into the western ditch. Ramos’s vehicle rolled end over end. Ramos was not injured as a result of the accident. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Ramos was cited for operating without a valid license (1st violation) and operating motor vehicle without insurance.

On September 9, at 6:05 p.m., a vehicle driven by Oscar Hinderliter, 19, of Medford was traveling westbound on Broadway Ave., in the city of Medford. Hinderliter reported that he fell asleep. His vehicle struck a light pole at the intersection of Gibson St. and Broadway Ave. Hinderliter’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. There were no injuries as a result of the accident. Hinderliter was cited for inattentive driving.

Two Vehicle Crashes

On September 2, at 7:55 a.m., a vehicle driven by Steven Lawrence, 35 of Medford was traveling southbound and was stopped waiting for a vehicle to turn left at the intersection of STH 13 and Correction Ln. A vehicle driven by Rachael Dahl, 16 of Medford struck Lawrence’s vehicle in the back. Dahl stated that she had looked down. There was functional damage to Lawrence’s vehicle. Dahl’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Dahl was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

On September 4, at 10:32 a.m., a vehicle driven by Justin Kauffman, 50 of Medford was eastbound on Perkinstown Ave. A vehicle driven by Audrey Metz, 49 of Rib Lake pulled out of a driveway and drove into the side of Kauffman’s vehicle. Metz’s vehicle sustained front end damage to the passenger side and was towed at Metz’s request. Metz advised that she looked but did not see Kauffman’s vehicle so she turned onto the road. There were no injuries as a result of the accident. Metz was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

On September 8, at 2:52 p.m., a vehicle driven by Jeanne Mueller 76 of Medford was attempting to drive out of the Taylor Credit Union parking lot. A vehicle driven by Carol Northway, 85 of Medford proceeded to back up. Mueller advised they stopped and honked the horn, but Northway continued to back up. Northway’s vehicle struck the front of driver side of Mueller’s vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. There were no injuries reported as a result of the accident.

On September 8, at 3:39 p.m., a vehicle driven by Raymond Gengler, 17 of Medford left the Medford Area Senior High School parking lot traveling westbound on Broadway Ave., in the southernmost lane. The northernmost lane was reported to have heavy traffic. Gengler proceeded westbound, when a vehicle driven by Grace Sperl, 17 of Medford left the parking lot to travel eastbound on Broadway Ave. Both drivers indicated another vehicle had been stopped on the roadway and Sperl explained that the person was waving them out. Sperl then began to enter the roadway when Sperl’s vehicle and Gengler’s vehicle struck each other. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. There were no injuries reported as a result of the accident.


On August 29, at 4:40 p.m., a vehicle driven by Michael Brandner, 66 of Medford stopped in the roadway on Lekie Dr. Brandner had exited the vehicle. Cimanna Noland, 32, of Medford was a passenger in another vehicle and exited the vehicle. There were words exchanged between the two. Noland went back to the vehicle she was a passenger of to retrieve a cell phone. Noland was attempting to take a picture of the license plate when Brandner took off. The trailer Brandner was hauling struck Noland in left upper buttocks/lower back area. Noland did have a possible injury as a result. Brandner was cited for reckless driving (endangering safety) and failure of operator to notify police of accident.Taylor County Sheriff’s Office
