Jump River Electric Cooperative (JREC) will hold its 85th annual meeting of its membership Saturday, April 29. The meeting will be held at the Ladysmith headquarters warehouse, located just north of Ladysmith, along State Hwy. 27.

Members can also participate in this meeting from the Hayward outpost, where the annual meeting will be livestreamed. Registration, at both locations, begins at 9:30 a.m., with the business meeting starting at 10 a.m.

Attendees will receive a $25 energy credit (one per membership) and other door prizes, as well the chance to win one of five, $100 energy credits and a grand prize of one, $500 energy credits.

The meeting will include a presentation from Brent Ridge, president and CEO of Dairyland Power Cooperative, JREC’s wholesale provider. Reports will also be given by JREC’s board chairman and staff.

Members are asked to vote for the election of three director seats and on proposed bylaw amendments.

Voting can be done one of three ways. Prior to the annual meeting, members can cast an electronic or absentee mailin ballot. Members attending the annual meeting, and who have not already voted, can cast a meeting-day ballot during registration April 29.

Members can call the cooperative, at 715-532-5524, if they have a question on the different balloting options or deadlines.

“The annual meeting is a great opportunity for us to hear from you,” said JREC general manager/CEO Kurt Harris. “This also provides our members a chance to take part in the democratic process of their cooperative.”
