Commission on Aging announces September Menu

The menu for the month of September has been announced for the Senior Dining Centers of the Taylor County Commission on Aging. Persons 60 years and older and spouse, regardless of age, are welcome to participate in the noon meals. In Jump River, meals are served at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Jump River Community Center. In Medford, meals are served at noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at the Medford Senior Dining Center. In Gilman, meals are served at noon Monday through Thursday at the Gilman Senior Center. Meals are served in Goodrich at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at Royal Gaits Arena & Stables. In Stetsonville, meals are served at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the Centennial Community Center. Meals are served in Rib Lake at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Rib Lake Senior Center. In Westboro meals are served at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the VFW Hall. Medford, Stetsonville, Westboro, Jump River, Rib Lake & Goodrich menu Week of September 1— Thursday, Brat on a bun, grilled onions, ketchup, potato salad, green beans, carrot cake; Friday, Salisbury steak, gravy, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, wheat bread, honey bee Ambrosia carrot cake.

Week of September 5— Monday, CLOSED FOR LABOR DAY; Tuesday, Sloppy Joe on a bun, Roasted potatoes, baked beans, grape salad; Wednesday, Seasoned baked chicken, twice baked mashed potatoes, cold pickled beets, whole wheat bread, peaches and vanilla pudding; Thursday, ham and scalloped potato casserole, Pacific blend vegetables, whole wheat roll, banana; Friday, loaded broccoli, potato and cheddar soup, naked chicken breast strips, mandarin oranges, apple slices.

Week of September 12— Monday, Garlic lime chicken, seasoned potatoes, three bean salad, multi-grain bread, pineapple cake; Tuesday, lemon pepper fish, scalloped potatoes, peas, rye bread, creamy fruit salad; Wednesday, chef salad with mixed greens, tomatoes, turkey, egg, cheese, fresh roll, minestrone soup, cookie; Thursday, spaghetti and meat sauce, Italian blend veggies, garlic breadstick, diced pears, rhubarb cake; Friday, Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower, whole wheat bread.

Week of September 19— Monday, Shepherd’s Pie, mashed potatoes, squash, rye bread, chocolate cake; Tuesday, Chicken salad on a croissant with lettuce and tomato, vegetable chicken noodle soup, crackers, sliced peaches, cookie; Wednesday, Meat lasagna, dill carrots, mixed greens salad, dressing, garlic breadstick, pumpkin cake; Thursday, Swiss steak, parsley buttered potatoes, broccoli, whole wheat bread, Jell-O with fruit; Friday, chicken alfredo over linguini, Wisconsin blend vegetable, coleslaw, garlic breadstick, grapes.

Week of September 26— Monday, Mexican Chicken and rice casserole, whole kernel corn, pineapple, blueberry coffee cake; Tuesday, baked tuna noodle casserole with peas, coleslaw, rye bread, berries; Wednesday, ham, twice baked mashed potatoes, carrots, wheat dinner roll, raspberry sherbet jell-O; Thursday, Hearty bean soup, turkey sandwich on marble rye with lettuce and tomato, grape juice, rice krispie treat; Friday, hamburger stroganoff, mashed potatoes, broccoli salad, whole wheat bread, strawberries.

Gilman Menu Week of September 1— Thursday, tater tot hot dish, creamed cucumbers,

applesauce, cookie.

Week of September 5— Monday, CLOSED FOR LABOR DAY, Tuesday, chicken casserole with veggies, melon, vanilla pudding; Wednesday, salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, peas, banana, bars; Thursday, chicken dumpling soup with veggies, biscuit, peaches, cookie.

Week of September 12— Monday, chicken alfredo linguini, salad, fruit cocktail, tapioca pudding; Tuesday, pork chop, Au Gratin potatoes, green beans, applesauce, cupcake; Wednesday, Teriyaki Chicken rice casserole with vegetables, melon, lemon squares; Thursday, oven roasted chicken breast, baked potato, corn, pears, chocolate cake.

Week of September 19— Monday, hamburger with mushroom soup, wide noodle, pineapple, Jell-O; Tuesday, Roast pork, sweet potatoes, mixed vegetables, mandarin oranges, Caramel brownie; Wednesday, meatballs with white sauce, green beans, fresh fruit, caramel brownie; Thursday, creamy potato and ham soup, carrots, peaches, chocolate pudding.

Week of September 26— Monday, hash brown egg bake, mixed veggies, melon, cinnamon roll; Tuesday, Kielbasa broiled potatoes, sauerkraut, fruit salad, cookie; Wednesday, Chicken salad wrap, lettuce, diced tomatoes, applesauce, cheesecake; Thursday, lasagna with meat sauce, garlic bread, green bean casserole, pear, cake.
