Memorial Member Association pledges to the Medford School District FEMA Dome project

Memorial Member Association (MMA) has pledged $500,000 toward the Medford Area Public School District’s FEMA Dome Project.
The Medford School District is working to secure funds to construct a building that would provide care and safety for the physical and mental health of students, adults and families in our community. The building will:
• Feature a designated FEMA site to help prepare and implement emergency management in case of disaster.
• Support school-based physical and mental health needs.
• Provide year-round physical activity opportunities for everyone in the community.
The pledged funding of $500,000 will help the Medford School District meet its goal of $2 million to make this structure a reality. Through highlighted goals and objectives in addressing physical and mental health as a priority, this collaboration will help make a difference for our community.
Memorial Member Association was formed at the time of the unification of the Medford hospital and clinics with Aspirus in 2001. MMA represents the community’s 50% share in the health care organization. It is a separate and distinct entity from Aspirus Medford Hospital & Clinics and uses the proceeds received from Aspirus in the 2001 merger to fund healthy initiatives in our community.
MMA’s Board of Directors includes John Lange, Leonard Hamman, Sarah Hedtke, Dale Hustedt, Randy Juedes, Emily Tracey, Candice Grunseth, Jason Steliga, Colton Freiberg, William Klingbeil, Paul Rybak, Beth van der Berg and Courtney Graff.

HealthView Eye Care Centers Medford and Colby has teamed with the local Veterans Service to hold a Blanket Drive for Veterans. We will be collecting new or handmade twin size blankets along with a few full sizes. Blanket Donations will be accepted November 1 through December 31 at either HealthView Eye Care Center location in Medford or Colby. Shelli Shaw and Nikki Sherman of the Veterans Service will be helping to distribute the blankets locally and to the Chippewa Falls Veterans Home after the holidays. As seen by these blankets delivered to the Medford office, the drive is off to a nice start but more are needed.SUBMITTED
