Car flipped over
CRASH REPORTS
David Robert Hecker, 24, of Sheldon, was traveling westbound on CTH M, in the town of Cleveland, on November 25, at 6:38 a.m. Hecker’s car skidded out of control and entered the north ditch, struck a driveway, rolled and came to rest on its roof. Vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
Elliot James Marshall, 25, of Stetsonville, was traveling southbound on CTH C, on November 24, at 6:46 p.m., in the town of Deer Creek, when his vehicle left the roadway and entered the west ditch. Marshall struck a culvert and came to rest in the west ditch facing south. Citations for inattentive driving and operating while under the influence were given.
Randy Joseph Pollard, 31, of Curtiss, was traveling westbound on CTH M, on November 26, at 9:05 p.m., in the town of Greenwood. Pollard drifted off the roadway, onto the shoulder, where the mailbox for W4465 CTH M was struck. The tire tracks of the truck continued into the northern ditch, over Hunters Dr., and back into the ditch, on the west side of Hunters Dr. Pollard had fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. The following day, the vehicle was towed from the scene. The driver advised he had swerved to miss a deer and ended up being “sucked” into the ditch. Citations of failing to keep vehicle under control and failing to notify police of accident were issued.
Donald Ray Schmid, 70, of Dorchester, was traveling southbound on Hwy 13, on November 26, at 3:44 p.m., in the town of town of Little Black. Schmid said that he saw smoke coming from the engine compartment, so he pulled off the road. As Schmid exited the vehicle, it began to engulf in flames as it was facing south on the west shoulder of Hwy 13. Vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
Eric Jon Bunkelman, 32, of Medford, was traveling northbound on Hwy 13 approaching Clark St., on December 2, at 1:06 p.m., in the city of Medford. John William Hebert, 83, of Rib Lake, attempted to make a left hand turn into the Medford Plaza entrance and struck Bunkelman’s car, causing damage to both vehicles. Failure to yield a right-of-way by Hebert, was a contributing factor in the crash.
James L. Penoyer, 57, of Sheldon, was parked in the roadway in the eastbound lane of CTH D, unloading the cavity fed grain cart into a semitrailer, on November 23, at 5:45 p.m., in the town of Jump River. Eric Alan Amborn, 51, of Green Bay was traveling eastbound on CTH D. Amborn advised the semi-truck still had its highbeams on, which blinded him momentarily. Once he passed the semi-truck, he was too close to the grain cart to avoid collision. Amborn swerved and struck the rear passenger side corner of Penoyer’s vehicle. Penoyer’s vehicle was driven from the scene into the nearby field for the night. Amborn’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene. A citation for impeding traffic was given to Penoyer.
Thomas Charles Bader, 82, of Kennan, was attempting to pull out of parking rows onto the main way of the Walmart parking lot, on December 4, at 2:13 p.m., in the city of Medford. Bader pulled out too far and hit the vehicle of Danielle Lynn Thomas, 33, of Medford. Both vehicles sustained minor damages, and were each removed by the operators from the scene. Failure to yield right-of-way by Bader was a contributing factor in the crash.
The following deer accidents were reported: Caitlyn Alayne Huls, 28, of Withee, on November 18, at 5:09 p.m., on CTH A, in the town of Holway; Gerald John Thums, 75, of Rib Lake, on November 29, at 8:50 p.m., on Hwy 13, in the town of Medford; Judy Ann Acker, 71, of Medford, on November 29 at 5:43 a.m., on CTH E, in the town of Medford.
Crystal Ann Kane, 43, of Stanley was traveling westbound on County Line Rd., in the town of Taft, on November 20, at 4 a.m. Kane advised that she swerved to miss a deer and went into the north ditch causing functional damage. Vehicle was towed and Kane left the scene prior to law enforcement arriving. A citation for operating motor vehicle without insurance was issued.
