Rumblefest car show results

The Fifth Annual Rumblefest, hosted by Barely Legal Customs, was kicked off with a drive-in movie Friday night with a showing of Gone in 60 Seconds, the 2000 action film starring Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie. On Saturday, activities started with the Poker Fun Run that had 68 participants. That evening included a live concert by Minor Distraction, a four member band based out of Central Wisconsin.
On Sunday, the park became the location for a craft show selling a variety of homemade objects and decorations and the Rumblefest car show. There were 265 registered vehicles in the show and a number of awards were given at the end of the day. Best of Show was won by Eric and Bridget Pember’s 1989 GMC Sierra. Bill and Susie Melchi’s 1937 Ford Sedan won Best Paint. Best Engine was won by Todd Brost’s 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Rick and Sue Tippett’s 1958 Ford Del Rio won Best Interior.
Medford Motors presented their Best Ford award to Mark Janousk who had a 1939 Ford 2-door Sedan. Medford Chrysler presented their Best Mopar award to Kurt Neibacher with a 1950 Dodge B-2-B. Lee Paul was presented a Lifetime Achievement award for his contributions to the local community and car culture in Medford through his upholstery business.
Sunday afternoon, Rumblefest held a live auction to raise money to support Medford’s high school tech ed department. They auctioned off a variety of different items donated by community members and businesses. The money raised was combined with the money collected from the event’s tip jars to raise a total of $2,300 for the school’s tech ed.
