Elijah L. Apfel, 21, South Milwaukee, and Lucas T. Fjarlie, 26, Athens, were involved in an accident on April 2 at 2:39 p.m. at the intersection of CTH O and E in the town of Hammel. According to the accident report, the Fjarlie vehicle was eastbound on CTH O. The Apfel vehicle was northbound on CTH E and stopped for the stop sign at the intersection with CTH O. The report stated Apfel looked down at his phone and then continued north through the intersection where his vehicle was struck by the Fjarlie vehicle. Apfle stated he never looked to the left before proceeding into the intersection. Apfel sustained possible injuries but was not transported for medical treatment. The Apfel vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front, right front corner, left front corner, left side front and left rear corner. It was towed from the scene. The Fjarlie vehicle sustained damage to the front, left front corner and the entire right side. Failure to yield the right-of-way, looked but did not see, driver distracted by hand-held mobile phone and looking away from task by Apfel were listed in the report as factors in the accident. He was issued a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way.

David J. Ogorzalek, 51, Lublin, was involved in an accident on March 27 at 9:29 p.m. on Eighth Avenue in the village of Lublin. According to the accident report, the driver of the Ogorzalek vehicle was attempting to turn around in the intersection of CTH F and Eighth Avenue. As the vehicle was backing up, Ogorzalek failed to maintain control of the vehicle and it backed into the stop sign on Eighth Avenue, knocking it over. Ogorzalek continued to back up into the ditch area where the vehicle became stuck in the mud. Ogorzalek fled the scene, leaving the vehicle in the ditch. The report stated a law enforcement officer made contact with Ogorzalek the following day who admitted driving into the ditch and that he had fallen asleep while driving, but later admitted he had been drinking and driving. There was no damage to the vehicle. Unsafe backing, failure to control and running off roadway by Ogorzalek were listed in the report as factors in the accident. He was issued citations for failure to keep vehicle under control, hitand- run to property adjacent to a highway and failure of occupant to notify police of an accident.

Jorge Palma Rosero, 67, Medford, was involved in an accident on April 1 at 1:16 p.m. at the intersection of Cedar Street and Gibson Street in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Palma Rosero vehicle was westbound on Cedar Street when it struck a power utility pole at the southwest corner of the intersection of Cedar and Gibson streets. The report stated Palma Rosero first told law enforcement that his brakes did not work and later that he swerved to avoid another vehicle. The report stated Palma Rosero’s driver’s license has been revoked, and that he was arrested and cited for operating while revoked. The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front. Running off the roadway and looking away from task by Palma Rosero were listed in the report as factors in the accident.

A 15-year-old Medford girl was involved in an accident on April 4 at 3:31 p.m. on private property at 119 N. Washington Ave. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, a vehicle was northbound on North Washington Avenue when law enforcement attempted to initiate a traffic stop for a traffic violation the officer had witnessed. The vehicle then turned into the driveway at 119 North Washington Ave. where it accelerated and struck the garage door and siding on the garage. The 15-year-old told the law enforcement officer she had mixed up the accelerator and brake pedals. The report stated it was determined the girl did not possess a driver’s license due to her age and she was issued a citation for operating without a valid license-first offense.

in a hit-and-run accident on March 28 at 3 a.m. on a driveway at W7610 CTH M in the town of Molitor. According to the accident report, the Gruny vehicle was northbound on the driveway when it struck a tree on the east side of the driveway, causing damage to the front, left front corner and right front corner of the vehicle. A citation was issued for vehicle owner’s liability for failure to stop at the scene of an accident-property adjacent to a highway.

A vehicle owned by Brendan S. Schauer, Dorchester, and an unknown vehicle were involved in a hit-andrun accident on April 3 at 12:32 p.m. in a parking lot at W4582 CTH A in the town of Deer Creek. According to the accident report, the Schauer vehicle was legallyparked and unoccupied in the parking lot when it was struck by an unknown vehicle, which then left the scene without reporting the accident or leaving their contact information. The Schauer vehicle sustained damage to the front, right front corner, right side front, left front corner and left side front.

The following deer-related accidents were reported: Allen P. Quante, 55, Medford, on March 30 at 9:57 a.m. on CTH DD in the town of Holway.
