Eugene G. Gebert, 90, Medford, and Natasha L. Cruz, 26, Medford, were involved in an accident on February 18 at 1:07 p.m. on North Washington Avenue in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Gebert vehicle had backed out of a driveway and was about to proceed south on North Washington Avenue when the vehicle was struck by the Cruz vehicle as it was backing out of a driveway. Cruz said she was backing out of her driveway and did not see the Gebert vehicle behind her in the street. The Gebert vehicle sustained damage to both passenger side doors. There was no damage to the Cruz vehicle. Unsafe backing by Cruz was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. She was issued a citation for unsafe backing.

Jeanne S. Berry, 53, Medford, was involved in an accident on February 18 at 11 a.m. on CTH C in the town of Deer Creek. According to the accident report, the Berry vehicle was northbound on CTH C when the driver slowed to turn and lost control of the vehicle on the icy roadway. The vehicle entered the east ditch and rolled over, coming to a stop on its passenger side. Berry sustained possible injuries and was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for medical treatment. The vehicle sustained minor damage to the entire right side, front, left front corner, left side front, left side middle and top. It was towed from the scene. Weather and road surface conditions were listed in the report as factors in the accident.

Jay J. Slattery, 63, Rib Lake, was involved in an accident on February 19 at 11:32 a.m. in the Dollar General parking lot at 1215 Hwy 102 in the village of Rib Lake. According to the accident report, the Slattery vehicle was pulling into a parking space when the driver’s foot slipped of the brake pedal and the vehicle struck the building.

Jason W. McKelvey, 33, Medford, was involved in an accident on February 20 at 3:47 p.m. on Hwy 64 in the town of Browning. According to the accident report, the McKelvey vehicle was westbound on Hwy 64 when a deer jumped in front of the vehicle. The driver swerved to avoid the deer and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle slid into a guard rail on the north side of the road, bounced off the guard rail and came to a stop in the eastbound lane of traffic. The vehicle sustained damage to the front, entire left side, right front corner and rear. It was towed from the scene. McKelvey was issued a citation for operating while revoked.

Kassandra M. Diamond, 18, Gilman, was involved in an accident on February 21 at 3:08 p.m. on Gilman Road in the town of Pershing. According to the accident report, the Diamond vehicle was northbound on Gilman Road when it encountered a patch of snow on the roadway which caused the vehicle to pull to the left. The driver over-corrected while steering right, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times before coming to a stop on its roof. Diamond was able to get out of the vehicle

James R. Packenham, 74, Rib Lake, was involved in an accident on February 20 at 2:41 p.m. on Frey Lane in the town of Browning. According to the accident report, the Packenham vehicle was westbound on Frey Lane when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to ice on the roadway. The vehicle spun and slid into the ditch, partially tipping onto its side. Packenham said he was able to climb out the driver’s side window and walk to a nearby house. The vehicle sustained minor damage to the entire right side. Speeding too fast for conditions was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.

Anderson J. Gomez Florez, 28, Neillsville, was involved in an accident on February 22 at 1:30 a.m. on CTH E in the town of Holway. According to the accident report, the Gomez Florez vehicle was southbound on CTH E when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to blowing snow and ice on the roadway and it entered the west ditch. Gomez Florez said he was using his cellphone at the time of the accident. The vehicle sustained damage to the front, right front corner and right side front. It was towed from the scene. Weather conditions, and failure to control, operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or erratic manner, and being distracted by a hand-held mobile phone by Gomez Florez were listed in the report as factors in the accident. He was issued a citation for operating without a valid license- first offense.

The following deer-related accidents were reported: Brandon J. Annala, 22, Westboro, on February 20 at 6:33 p.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Chelsea.
