Wausau Homes Medford receives builder of the year honors

In a year that has been anything but ordinary, perseverance and determination have been recognized for Wausau Homes Medford owner Jason Wanke. Jason, along with Jeremy Parkes and Terry Steinman, and the rest of the Medford team, was presented with the 2021 Builder of the Year award at the annual Wausau Homes Builder Conference, held virtually this year.

“In a year of uncertainty, we are proud to be able to partner with independent Wausau Homes builders like Jason and his team. The pandemic has impacted the entire home construction market, delaying the availability of necessary materials and causing extra financial hurdles,” explains Jay Schuette, CEO and owner of Wausau Homes. “Through it all, Jason prioritized his customers’ experience and delivered not just trust and confidence, but dream custom homes.”

The annual Builder of the Year award is given to the builder who achieved the highest ratings in categories of sales volume, market share, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Builders must rank in the 95th percentile in all key areas to be eligible for the prestigious Builder of the Year award.

Jason and his team have now received this distinguished honor for the third time in the last decade. He has been building with Wausau Homes since 1985, and no one knows better than the Medford team what it takes to get the job done right.

“Looking back on the year, I am most proud that with all the personal challenges our employees and subcontractors had, they found stability in their work life,” said Wanke. “I can’t speak for all, but for some, showing up to work was a sanctuary for them.”

“Building your custom home shouldn’t have to be stressful — we’ve made it simple,” Schuette said. “But, taking our process and plan and executing it for our customers across the Midwest is what makes Wausau Homes what it is today, and we couldn’t do it without people like Jason Wanke.”

Along with the Builder of the Year, Wausau Homes Medford also earned a Platinum Award for performance goals and a Voice of the Customer Elite award by being a trusted advisor to their homebuyers, achieving a high customer satisfaction rating. “I want to thank Wausau Homes for all they do to pull together the people, product and capital that supplies our home building machine,” Wanke said. “We truly have great people in our organization.
