Hollatz-Polzin beats incumbent

Challenger Christine Hollatz-Polzin beat incumbent Kitty Guyer by a 1,076 to 883 vote count in Tuesday’s spring election, winning a three-year term on the Stratford Board of Education.
Hollatz-Polzin obtained the highest vote totals in the race against Guyer in seven of the eight municipalities in the Stratford School District.
Hollatz-Polzin received 309 votes in the village of Stratford, compared to 251 votes for Guyer. She also won the towns of Cleveland, 303 to 276 votes; Eau Pleine, 159 to 107 votes; Day, 124 to 77 votes; Green Valley, 43 to 12 votes; McMillan, 39 to 24 votes and Emmett, 38 to 28 votes.
Frankfort was the only town that Guyer won by a margin of 41 to 36 votes.
Guyer had served several terms on the board, first from 2006 to 2013 and then again from 2021 until now.
This will be Hollatz-Polzin’s first time serving on the school board.
