Apparent suicide under investigation

Colby-Abby police are investigating the apparent suicide of an individual whose body was found on STH 13 in Colby on Sunday morning.

According to a press release from police chief Alex Bowman, local officers and emergency responders from Central Fire and EMS responded to a report of a dead body on the highway at 7:25 a.m. on Aug. 25. The scene was eventually cleared and reopened to traffic.

“The incident is still under investigation and no additional information will be released at this time,” Bowman wrote. “There is no threat to the public.”
