Dan Boxx has been named the new District Administrator by the Rib Lake School Board. He will take over for Bruce Anderson on July 1. Anderson will be leaving to take a district administrator position in Boyceville. The selection of Boxx as the new administrator was initially approved at a special closed session school board meeting on May 21. However, proper notice of the meeting was not given to the media as required under Wisconsinâs Open Meetings Law, making that action invalid. The board met again on Monday, May 26 in closed session to correct that error and revote on the selection.

The Medford and Perkinstown Telephone Company has a card in this issue of the Star and News, directing the attention of the public to the fact that its line is now completed for the transmission of verbal messages. For the small sum of twenty-five cents you may converse with your friend at Perkinstown, as conveniently as if he or she stood at your side. At any rate, the line is proving itself a great convenience.
