Northcentral Technical College’s leadership wants a new western campus, just where that new campus will be located is anyone’s guess.
Up until Saturday morning, the plan on the table called for the Medford Area School District to give about three acres of unused school property near the football field to the college. A third party will be used to construct the building which would be leased by the college. However, on Saturday, Taylor Electric Utility Customers received a letter inviting customers to attend a member appreciation lunch on Wednesday afternoon and learn about an arrangement between the cooperative and NTC to locate the new western campus on a parcel currently owned by the cooperative. The five acre parcel is located adjacent to the cooperative’s headquarters in the Town of Little Black, about three miles south of the city limits.

Medford won from Phillips at the Taylor County Fair game 4 to 2. Medford secured 5 hits from Noel of Marshfield, who pitched for Phillips.
Medford’s scores came two each in the 5th and 6th inning. Noel is by far the best pitcher Medford has faced this season, but Medford has been hitting much better in recent games than in mid-season.

One of the most serious runaways in the history of Medford occured last Saturday afternoon. The team owned by J.M. Maier, hitched to the family carriage containing Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Schmidt, and two children and Mrs. Maier, started at a moment when Mr. Schmidt did not have the reins in his hands. They ran at a mad pace down west 3rd st and turned the corner at Elm street, where the carriage tipped over. The occupants were dragged some distance in the top of the rig and were more or less injured but fortunately none seriously. The carrriage was badly demolished, however.
