Students from the area who received degrees in May from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire were:

Gilman — Amanda Hecker, Associate of Applied Science degree.

Lublin — Breanna Fryza, Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.

Medford — Grayson Dahlby, Bachelor of Business Administration degree in business finance; Dalton Everhard, Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education; Jenna Klemm, Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in nursing; Ashley Klinner, Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in nursing; Emily Kuckkahn, Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education; Lakyn Kummer, Bachelor of Science degree in special education; and Sophia Pernsteiner, Bachelor of Science degree in communication sciences and disorders.

Rib Lake — Kaitlyn Cardey, Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing; and Mariah Thums, Bachelor of Social Work degree in social work.

Students from the area who received degrees for the spring and summer sessions at the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point were Megan Clark of Medford, Master of Science degree in communication sciences and disorders; Michael Knight of Medford, Bachelor of Science degree in communication; Emerson Knippel of Medford, Bachelor of Science degree in computer information systems; Erin Lindau of Medford, Associate of Arts and Sciences degree; Katherine McMurry of Medford, cum laude, Bachelor of Science degree in sociology; Cassie Rudolph of Medford, Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education; and Kaylyn Schreiner of Stetsonville, magna cum laude, Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.

The following area students completed degree requirements in May at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse: Bailey Brandner of Medford, academic honors, Bachelor of Science degree in communication studies; Lauren Carstensen of Medford, academic honors, Bachelor of Science degree in clinical laboratory science; Trent Klemm of Medford, Bachelor of Science degree in history education; Cayden Nuernberger of Medford, highest academic honors, Bachelor of Science degree in psychology; Regan Dobbs of Westboro, academic honors, Bachelor of Science degree in exercise and sport science; and Cassandra Poehler of Westboro, highest academic honors, Bachelor of Science degree in exercise and sport science.

On August 2 Bernice Budrus turned 101 years old. Her husband, George, turned 100 in January and her sister, Lottie Nowicki, turned 99 years of age in 2021. All are former residents of the Gilman area. Bernice worked at Kapsy Market and George ran the feed mill in Lublin for years. Lottie and her late husband, Tony, owned a farm near Gilman and later farmed in Unity. The Budrus currently live in their own home in Mosinee and Nowicki lives with her daughter in the Rib Mountain area. Pictured left to right are Bernice Budrus, George Budrus and Lottie Nowicki.
