Shauna Marie Flood, 63, Cornell, passed away, Monday, April 7, 2025, at 6:46 p.m., at the Mayo Clinic Hospital, Mary Brigh Building, in Rochester, Minn. Shauna had been rushed to the hospital four days prior to her passing, and eventually succumbed to a ruptured brain aneurysm. She was surrounded by her loving family when she passed.

Shauna was born Feb. 19, 1962, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of John and Donabelle (Moss) Flood.

She grew up in Cornell, and lived there most of her life. Shauna attended and graduated from Cornell High School.

She worked locally at KJ’s Fresh Market, as well as Flamingo Rho’s Floral shop and she had only recently retired.

Shauna will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her stubbornness and wit, her strength and her determination.

She loved genealogy and scrapbooking, was very interested in the history of Cornell, her hometown, and was a huge Little House on the Prairie fan. She enjoyed reading, especially V.C. Andrews books and recently participated in a small book club.

More than anything else, Shauna enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children – Jesse (Jessica) Wolfe, Chelsy (Eric) Helland, Aleshia (Christopher) Hetchler, Jonathan (Chevy) Hakes, Sharlene Hakes, Jessica Helland, Travis (Kaylee) Helland, Megan (Bailey) Blodgett and Ryan (Abigail) Helland; her grandchildren – Natalya, Annabelle, Aleah, Raith, Victor, Alexaria “Lexie,” Quinnton, Annyka, Lincoln, Saylor, Pepper, Emilia, Jennifer “Rosie” and Freya; her siblings – Claudette Smith, Tracy Flood, Shane Flood and Bridget (Kurt) Bandach; her in-laws – Joni Langel, Cheryl (Steve) Olsen, Brenda (Terry) Knowlton, Emil (Bonnie) Langel, Arthur (Tammy) Helland and Stacie (Josh) Graham; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 27 years – Allen Franklin Helland; her parents – John and Donabelle (Moss) Flood; her infant brothers – Reuben Flood and Joseph Flood; sister-in-law – Veronda “Ronnie” Flood; brother-in-law – Daniel Smith; sister-in-law – Darlene Flood; and numerous aunts; uncles; cousins and other relatives.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 17, at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, with Pastor Greg Sima officiating. Visitation will begin at 11a.m., and go until the start of the service, at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at the Estella Cemetery. Following the interment, there will be a luncheon at Sweeney’s Y Go By in Cornell.
