Robert H. Brinkmeyer
Robert H. Brinkmeyer, 93, Holcombe, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, at his home, of natural causes.
Robert was born Aug. 28, 1931, to Harold and Gertrude (Smull) Brinkmeyer.
He was married to Catherine Brinkmeyer until her passing.
Robert was a driver for the Amish community. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his horses.
He is survived by one brother – Douglas (Vickie) Brinkmeyer, Garden Prairie, Ill.; one niece – Deborah (Joshua) Nelson; two great-nephews – Owen and Oliver Nelson; two great-nieces – LeAnn and Lauren Brinkmeyer; special friends – Joas Swartzentruber and family, Wayne Johnson, Ora and Melvin Miller, and family, Anson Teinter and Bernard Geist; and many friends in the Amish community in the Sheldon area.
He was preceded in death by his wife – Catherine; parents – Harold and Gertrude Brinkmeyer; two brothers – Raymond (Donna) Brinkmeyer, Caledonia, Ill., and Darrell (Sarah) Brinkmeyer, Caledonia, Ill., one sister – Betty (Jim) Grubb, Byron, Ill., and a nephew – Daniel Brinkmeyer.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheldon, with Pastor Brian Beardsley officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, at the church.
Military honors will be provided by the Sheldon American Legion Post 316 and will immediately follow the service, Thursday, at the church. Burial will be at a later date, in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
