Eugene “Bluje” Edward Wilcox

Eugene “Bluje” Edward Wilcox, 87, passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, while residing at Cornell Health Services, under the care of St. Croix Hospice.
Eugene was born Jan. 19, 1938, to George and Florence (Foster) Wilcox, in Chippewa County.
He resided in Cornell, until graduating high school in 1956, then went on to college, graduating with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in English and French. He then went on to teach school for many years.
In the 1970s, Eugene went to work for a canning factory in Lake Mills, during the summer months; he returned home during the winter, to help his mother. He also did a lot of substitute teaching in his spare time.
After retirement, Eugene moved back to his childhood home in Cornell. He would plant a large garden every summer and share fresh goodies, with his family and friends.
More than anything, he loved music and playing piano, along with playing endless games of cards, with family and friends. Up until his illness, he was involved in managing activities at the Cornell Senior Center.
Most of all, Eugene will be remembered as a kind friend to everyone.
