It is with a very heavy heart, that the family of Karen Lee (McChesney) Guthman announces her passing, at only 85 years young.

Karen married the love of her life, Walter Guthman Jr., Nov. 8, 1958, and they enjoyed 65 years together, before his passing in November of 2023.

She loved telling jokes and making everyone laugh. Karen would do anything for anyone and everyone loved her. She never complained and was always โ€œfine.โ€

Karen had many jobs throughout her life, that included being a cook at Fosterโ€™s, Title 1 teacher at Lake Holcombe School, secretary at Mount Senario College (where all the kids called her โ€œmomโ€), teller at First Federal Bank, Hutchinson Technologies, farming and the one she loved the most, was being a mom, grandma and great-grandma.

She is survived by her four children โ€“ Kim (Dale) Schroeder, Randy (Dee) Guthman, Kathy (Mike) Minot and Kelly (Larry) Forster; grandchildren โ€“ Nicolas Billiard (Kelsey), Lorin (Amy) Billiard, Remington Guthman, Evan Swanson (RaVae), Briana Swanson (Alec), Hailey Minot and Courtney (Brett) Owens; and great-grandchildren โ€“ Jason, Zac, Xavier, Abel, Paxton, Archer, Hank, Bria, Ella and Carter.

She was preceded in death by her husband โ€“ Walter Guthman Jr., her parents โ€“ Mac and Alice McChesney; brothers โ€“ David and Tom McChesney; mother and father- in-law โ€“ Walter Sr. and Edith Guthman; and sisterin- law โ€“ Lois Brown.

Karen holds a very special place in our hearts and will be greatly missed, by everyone who knew and loved her. Her memories and traditions she left us will live on, in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private family burial will take place at the Cornell Cemetery, May 17.
