Richard Clarence Weltzin

Richard Clarence Weltzin, 87, Clearwater, Minn., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, at St. Cloud-Minnesota Hospital, following a short illness.

Richard graduated from Cadott High School, then entered the military in the 397th Engineers.

He then worked at the Chippewa Shoe Factory. Richard later went to “Dunwoody” School; he became a machinist and worked for Ardell Products in the Twin Cities. Some parts he worked on, were in the backpacks of astronauts, who were on the moon.

Richard loved deer hunting, working on his cabins, honeybees, gardening and visiting friends.

He is survived by a daughter – Kathy, of Minnesota; brother – Gary, Cadott; and a friend – Bev Starkey, of Minnesota.

Inurnment will be in the Brooklawn Cemetery in Cadott, at a later date.
