Gregory “Greg” Champion, 62, Holcombe, passed away at home, Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, after fighting a six-year battle of metastatic prostate cancer.

Greg was born and raised in Rockford, Ill.

He attended East High School, and went on to earn his master’s degree in finance and marketing from UWWhitewater.

Greg was a manufacturing executive in Rockford, Ill., working for Mattison Machine Works, Barnes International, Hennig International, and retiring from Bourn & Koch International.

He is survived by his wife – Kristi, “the love of my life,” for 35 years; their two sons – Seth and Alan Champion; mother – Sue Champion-Whitgrove; father; Terry (Judy) Champion; brother – Jeff (Kathy) Champion; and sisterin-law – Maria Callis. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents – Edith and Howard Haugen; paternal grandparents – Elma and Henry Champion; and stepbrother – Joshua Callis.

A celebration of life will be held at Cookie’s Holcombe Inn, Saturday, Nov. 16, from 2-4 p.m.

Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bloomer, is assisting the family.
