Janet DeJung


Janet DeJung, 92, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at her home in Cadott.
Janet was born July 7, 1931, to William and Mary (Neste) Bonesho, in Eau Claire.
She attended school in Spring Brook, and graduated from Spooner High School. After graduation, she moved to the Twin Cities, and worked for Bell Telephone.
Janet married William DeJung in April 1955. They moved to Furth, Germany, for two years; upon returning to the United States, they moved to Cadott, where William resumed his teaching career.
Janet became actively involved in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, as well as the Cadott Women’s Club. Later, she would serve as librarian at the Cadott Public Library.
She is survived by sons – William (Mary) DeJung, Gillett, and Gerald (Carrie) DeJung, Eden Prairie, Minn.; beloved grandchildren – Lindsay (Jake), Kathryn, Jonah and Jason; sisters-in-law – Carole Bonesho and Sharon Bonesho; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband – William; parents; and brothers – William and Francis Bonesho.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 30, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cadott, with the Rev. Robert Hopkins officiating. Interment will be in the Brooklawn Cemetery in Cadott.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m., until the time of service at 1 p.m., at the church.
