Mary Ann Elizabeth Goodwin
Mary Ann Elizabeth Goodwin, 67, Gilman, passed away peacefully at her home, Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Ann was born Sept. 22, 1956, to Glen and Ruth (Rennison) Peacock, in Moline, Ill.
She married Butch Goodwin, March 21, 1975, and they had two sons, Jeremy and DeWayne.
Mary Ann and Butch were over-the-road truckers; they did trucking for many years. They loved trucking and being on the road.
She also had a love for dogs, she had many dogs that would actually go on the road with them. Her dogs, trucking and her family were her life. She trucked with Butch until his passing in April of 2010, after that, she continued trucking with her son, Jeremy.
Mary Ann loved her family very much, she was kind, caring and always willing to help. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her mother β Ruth Gass, Gilman; two sisters β Nancy (Bob) Warnock, Lublin, and Helen (Vince) Schueller, Gilman; one brother β Thomas Peacock, Altoona; her grandchildren β Justin Goodwin, Cornell, Kiana Goodwin, Duluth, Minn., and Nikki Goodwin, Westboro; and many nieces; nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband β Butch Goodwin; her two sons β Jeremy and DeWayne Goodwin; her father β Glen Peacock; grandparents β Arnold Henry Theodor Rennison and Laura Mae Rennison; stepfatherβ Fred Gass; brother β Allan Peacock; and nephews β Jonathon and Joshua Peacock.
Service will be held at noon, Thursday, Jan. 18, at Borton- Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell. Visitation will start at 10 a.m., and go until the start of service, at noon.
Burial will follow at the Yellow River Community Cemetery. There will be a luncheon at the Ruby Town Hall, following the burial.
