Judy Ann (Walters) Taylor
Judy Ann (Walters) Taylor, 79, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, surrounded by her family, after a short, aggressive bout with cancer.
Judy was born April 7, 1944. According to family lore, she was born at home, during an early spring blizzard, that left her parents, Rayland and Marie, stranded, unable to leave their home.
Her life began from the comforts of home, and as her life unfolded, she never wandered too far from that home.
Family, from the beginning until the end, was the pinnacle of her existence. Judy and her late husband, Joe, raised five children in Holcombe.
A 1962 graduate of Lake Holcombe High School, Judy was active in her community as an election judge, member of the Holcombe Womenβs Club and the local Methodist church. When not working on the family farm or driving her family all over the place, Judy managed to have many hobbies involving art, which she displayed in and around her home.
She is survived by a large family β Brian and Rebecca (Goldberg), and their sons β Max, Jacob and Ben, Golden Valley, Minn., Jill and Bryan Hanson, and their daughters β Mackenzie and Ellie, Elm Grove, Mitch and Kim Taylor, and their children β Leo and Lilly, Gillet, Joell and Terry Anders, and their children β Taylor and Jenna, Fall Creek, and, of course, Tom.
She was preceded in death by her parents β Rayland and Marie; her sister β Sharon; and her husband β Joe.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, with Pastor Greg Sima officiating. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m., and go until the time of service, at the funeral home.
