Chester “Chet” P. Allard

Chester “Chet” P. Allard passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, at Cornell Health Services, at the age of 100.

Chet was born to Paul and Mildred Allard, of Holcombe, April 16, 1923.

He attended Holcombe School, until joining the Army in 1943. Chet returned in 1946, to marry Bernice Thatcher and raise eight children,

in Illinois. Chet worked in the construction trade for 50 years.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family.

He is survived by sons – Chester Jr. (Evelyn), Mesa, Ariz., Dennis, Holcombe, Jeff, Ladysmith, Mike (Rhonda), Theresa, and Mark (Cheryl), Round Lake, Ill.; daughters – Karen Rios, Holcombe, Brenda Allard, Lake Villa, Ill.; and Silvia, Germany; many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Paul and Mildred; wife – Bernice; wife – Betty; son – Rodney; brothers – Clarence, Clayton, Donald “Pix,” Jack, Richard and Tom; and sister – Nina Conry.

Services will be held at Kristan Funeral Home in Mundelein, Ill., Friday, Dec. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon.
