Thomas L. White

Thomas L. White, 92, Cornell, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, after a battle with cancer.

Thomas was born Oct. 28, 1930, to Leslie and Margaret White.

He grew up in Wisconsin. Thomas married Eleanor Stelter in 1951.

They moved from Cornell, to Racine, where they raised their eight children. They were together for 57 years, until her passing in 2008.

Thomas also served in the Korean War and served from 1951-54.

He is survived by his children – Leslie (Lucy), Rodney (Amy), Marlene, Diane (David), Mark (Jennie) and Debbie Lynn (Sam); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters – Leva Novak and Shirley Helgerson; and many nieces and nephews. Thomas was later united in marriage to Dora Black, July 25, 2015, and he gained 11 more children – Sally (Dale), Bob (Shelly), Bev, Larry (Lisa), Linda (Lonnie), Ron (Karen), Donna, Sandy (Tim), Bill (Tammy), Sarah (Dan) and Kathy (Rob); and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife – Eleanor; two children – Lavern and Violet; his parents – Leslie and Margaret; brothers – William, Robert, Donald “Pee Wee”; and his sisters – Elta and June.

Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m., at Northwoods Church in Cornell. Visitation began at 10 a.m., lasting until the time of service.

Interment will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 27, at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
