G. Sue (Nelson) Wolfe
G. Sue (Nelson) Wolfe, Sylmar, Calif., passed away peacefully, Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, from complications following a brain aneurysm.
Sue was born Feb. 8, 1947, to Sherwood and Loris Nelson.
Living in the Cornell area, she graduated from Holcombe High School, Class of 1965, as Valedictorian.
From a love of polka music and dancing, she met Morris Wolfe, of Sylmar, Calif. They married Oct. 20, 1978, in Las Vegas, Nev. The couple danced all over the U.S., for 32 years, until Morris’ passing in 2010.
Sue was a very talented, creative person! As an excellent seamstress, having her own business, “G. Sue Originals,” in Cornell – making designer clothes, beautiful wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. After moving to California, she sewed for a designer.
Later, taking decorative tole painting classes, she became certified and taught the art – locally, across the U.S., and in Portugal, as well as working for DecoArt, a paint company of Kentucky, to demonstrate the art.
Her love of reading had her volunteer with the “Friends of the Sylmar Library,” which meant running quarterly book sales and with the group, making thousands of dollars to benefit the library.
She is survived by her sister – Joy Danielson and husband, Ron, Chippewa Falls; her California family – Edgar and Diana Medina, Divine, Gia, Dalilah, Julian, Mama Carmen and Papa Hector; and many dear friends across the country.
She was preceded in death by her husband – Morris; parents Sherwood and Loris; grandparents – Tobert and Gena Nelson, and Lawrence and Sally Peterson.
Services were held in Sylmar, Calif. Interment will be in the Cornell Cemetery, with a private family service.
Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, is in charge of local funeral arrangements.
