John Bates

John Bates was called by his Savior Jesus to his eternal home Friday, Nov. 11, 2022.

John was born Jan. 12, 1939, to Neal and Alva (Jensen) Bates.

He was a loving and devoted father to his children, his grandchildren, his greatgrandchildren, and was a wonderful husband to his wife, Michele “Mickey.”

John had a zest for life and a great sense of humor. He had many friends and relatives, whose lives were enriched and blessed with his many stories he loved to share while visiting with anyone who would listen.

He is survived by his son – John Bates Jr.; daughter – Julie (Bob Khosa); grandchildren – Johnny Khosa, Monica Khosa, Mareah Khosa, Angelina Khosa and Daniel (Liz) Bates; two great-grandchildren – Emma and Charlie Bates; and his wife – Michele Bates.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister – Janet; his parents; and first wife – Connie (Jim Schullo).

Services will be held at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Friday, Dec. 2. Vistitation will be at 10 a.m., with the service at 11 a.m., and a luncheon to follow at noon.
