Michael Wiese

Michael F. Wiese, age 83, of Colby, passed away on April 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the House of the Dove, under the tender care of Compassus Hospice.

A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Inurnment to follow at the Colby Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends were welcomed from 4 p.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Mike was born on February 8,1942, the son of Frances and Mary (Kittle) Wiese in Marshfield. He attended school in Abbotsford. Mike served in the Army National Guard. On November 26, 1966, Mike was united in marriage to Shirley Bowen and from that union they had two children, Kevin and Traci.

Mike had many years of working, which included Abby Oil, Midstate Trucking and Lieders Trucking, where he ran heavy equipment. While working he made time to serve his community by becoming a member of the Colby Fire Department for 29 years. After his retirement he spent his time detailing vehicles for family and friends.

Mike is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley: two children: Kevin (Tina) Wiese and Traci (Brad) Geiger; four grandchildren: Haylee (Andrew) Hogden, Morgan (Kane) Geiger, Kersten Wiese and Kaden Wiese; one great-grandchild: Korbin and soon to be greatgranddaughter; two sisters: Juanita Krug and Audrey (Ted) Calmes; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances & Mary Wiese; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Aurilla Bowen; two brothers: Norman and Dean Wiese; sister, Loretta Pecher and one sister-in-law, Geraldine Smith.
